The Competition
by Jonathan Menezes, T Y BCom
The players were required to go one on one
with each other. It was a test of total skill where a player
was tested first through an obstacle course and later in
a one on one cage match. Unlike in a normal football match
where each player is given a specific position, players
here were required to play all positions like forward, midfield
and defence at one time without any help from teammates.
I played the first round in Goa at Don Bosco
Grounds on June 5th and got selected for the Finals to be
held at Bangalore, then played the Finals at Bangalore on
July 1st and won the competition there. The winner would
be representing India in Manchester through an all-expense
paid trip sponsored by Nike.
