CLUBS & CELLS

A number of clubs such as Art and Photography, Theatre club, Nature club, IT club, etc. were setup 2 years ago, to encourage a spirit of spirit of participation as well as provide the platform to interact with other colleges and institutes and exposing the students' talents.

Nature club: To create a bond with the nature and environment is the motto of this club.

Movie and Theatre club:: Our college has the distinction of forming the first College Movie Club in Goa. It was inaugurated on 24 july 2004. The aim of the club is to acquaint students with classic films of all kinds. The stress will be on screening films to which students do not usually have access. The Club will also try to make its members familiar with the finer aspects of film making and will explore the possibility of organising seminars and workshops on screenplay writing, cinematography etc. The club works in collaboration with the Moving Images Film Club which is situated at Goa International Centre, Dona Paula. Acting, miming, mimicry and such other talents of the students are given exposure.

Art and photography club: To set the artist free in every student is undertaken by this club. Professionals in the Art and photography field come for help and guidance.

I.T club: Information technology club exposes the students to computers, Internet, E-mail etc. thus giving an appropriate opportunity to interact with the world at large.

Reading club: To inculcate in student a passion for books and interact with great minds and souls is undertaken by this club, besides organizing a number of competitions (such as story writing poetry etc.) during the first week of December.

Yoga & Meditation Club: The Yoga Club is a new club started this academic year under the guidance of our Principal Shri S.L. Sardesai. At the outset, Prof. Sardesai taught some basic Yogasanas, theory of Yoga to the students. A special of Meditation was conducted for third year students. All three divisions of T.Y. Com benefited from these session.

Eco-Com Forum: Addresses itself mainly to economic and commerce issues, its activities are wall paper on current economic issues, interviews of eminent personalities, socio-economics surveys, quiz, symposia, etc.

Career Guidance Cell
The Career Guidance Cell is set up to provide students with guidance regarding higher studies job opportunities and self employment. This cell consisting of a professor and the librarian helps students with up to date information careers and courses, and also guides students on how to prepare for competitive examination and interviews.

Counselling Cell
A Counselling Cell headed by a Senior Lecturer is set up to guide students on how to better their academic performance and to help them to resolve their problems they face. The aim of cell is to help students adjust to college life and prepare them psychologically for their careers after college.

The Placement Cell
The Placement Cell co-ordinates and organises on campus and off campus recruitment programmes for the final year students of the college. Several students have benefited from this activity.

Originally in Goa and outside Goa have shown interest in campus recruitment and have also related several students over a period of three years. MNC's like Hewlett Packard & e-source selected and recruited students from the 2002-2003 batch. Apex Packaging Pvt Ltd., Dempo Group of industries and several other industries in Goa have also selected and recruited students from our college. This cell also include career development programme for student.
